UVTREK is built on a simple principle: we translate the science, we don’t originate it. Every piece of content on this site follows the same production process, from first draft to publication.
Our Content Process
- 1. Research: Every topic starts with peer-reviewed sources and public health guidance — the WHO, IARC, AAD, CDC, Cancer Council Australia, ARPANSA, and the FDA.
- 2. Verification: Scientific and medical claims are checked against the original source material before a single word is published.
- 3. Medical review: Cornerstone science and safety content is reviewed by our Medical Editor, a German-registered General Practitioner, for accuracy and safe framing.
- 4. Publish: Content goes live with full source citations, so you can check our work yourself.
- 5. Update: When public health guidance changes, we revisit and update the affected articles.
Our Five-Point Product Vetting Process
When we recommend a product, it has been checked against five criteria before it earns a place on UVTREK:
- Does it meet a recognized protection standard (broad-spectrum SPF, UPF rating, or UV400/100% UV protection)?
- Is the manufacturer’s claim backed by testing, not just marketing language?
- Is it genuinely suited to the activity we’re recommending it for?
- Is it reasonably accessible in the market we’re writing for (USA or Australia)?
- Would we recommend it if we earned no commission at all?
We earn affiliate commissions on some product links — full details are on our Affiliate Disclosure page. Commission rates never influence which products we recommend.
UVTREK provides educational information only. Content is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified dermatologist or healthcare provider for personal skin health decisions.
